Thank YOU for sharing your experience so brilliantly!! You gave me the courage to go for my initial idea and helped me to solidify the feelings I had had into clear words 👏👏 I’m very happy with it especially with the added small changes (did change the subtitle for example to be a bit more short and sweet and without the “couple’s journey” reference to hone in more on the artist life rather than the couples life)
Haha right there’s a perspective for everything haha and though the goal isn’t to get rich on this book lol I hope it can bring in new readers who may love to stick around for the newsletter and eventually the serialisation and expansion of the first one..
I honestly love these types of reflections on development and how for example (as in this case) different covers may market different messages… ooooh it’s so fun haha!
Thank you for being here Danusia and I’m slightly nervous of you reading it though with your sharp mind haha 💞 now I’m off to 😴😴😴 xx
Congratulations Ellin; this is work of love. Fantastic that you embrace the imperfections and you're not shy about it. I'm in the middle of creating my first mini product and it's taking much too long precisely because I struggle with the imperfections I notice every time I read the draft... ;)
Thank you Sylwia for your encouragement 🥰 and I know exactly where you’re coming from! Especially for the first… I can say with certainty that I would’ve never lived off my creativity if I was too close to perfection… nothing would see the daylight! What’s interesting is that people generally love to give their feedback too, so having something imperfect can sometimes even be in your favor?!
I think we loved the idea of seeing your art, and now we do with when the hard copy comes out! 😊 But once I read Teyani’s comment the other day, I could totally see where she’s coming from. Objectively, the cover with you, close up doing your work, makes a lot of sense. (It’s always hard doing a poll and going in a different direction!! Or making a decision and then the polls change and you wonder if you made the right decision. What’s funny is, is that you “followed your gut” - which is what your whole newsletter is all about 😉)
Right polling is a tricky one where you want to not be stubbornly silly in your own ideas while still honour them (and the community)… a never ending dance 💃 but a fun one!
Yay thank you Kate!! So glad you love it 😍 final decisions (even though as I say in the text I can still change it technically haha) are always scary!
But even though I can change it I also want to make “a big deal” out of it to kind of mark its importance in the creative process somehow and also reflect the journey of a book and how hopefully it gets perceived by others… xx
Thank you Deb I’m so grateful for your feedback as always ❣️ it feels like a huge uplift from the last version at least… so it feels like a big win regardless. Slowly getting into the planning and structuring of the sequel too, which I’m looking forward to get into though it will be quite different as the four past years have been very family focused - how to balance a business with family life? xx
Regarding imperfection in our work, Elin, I LOVE when I see imperfection in a blog, vlog, or whatever else. I think it gives it a human touch that's becoming all the more important as AI starts to dominate our whole lives. 😂 I saw my favorite Youtuber talking about this on a podcast recently. He said he doesn't care if something isn't perfect. That's what marks a particular piece of artwork as human.
Thanks Thomas this is brilliant - you’re so right!! It’s the quirky human mistakes that makes it feel more real and raw these days isn’t it 🙌☀️ I also think that perfection is what blocks most from sharing their passion in the first place 🙏🏼
Awwww… gosh… thanks! You’re so kind. And yes, I love this cover❣️
Go for it, and trust that heart of yours.

Love this so very very very much! Argh yes of course from a kindle perspective, get it completely. @Teyani is so on the money 💰
Can’t wait to read it. I’ll adore the imperfections too 🥰

I love it! And totally agree with the reasoning behind choosing that for your kindle cover x
Yay I’m so glad ❣️ thank you for being here Jenna and breaking my nervous ice so quickly. Now I can go sleep in peace haha 🥰
Oh, bless you! Self-publishing will keep you awake at all hours 🙈
Haha oh indeed 😅 have you been able to come to for some air after your most recent launch? 💞
I have yes! It’s been a great release week. Although my brain is already getting to work on the next book 🙈
Haha that’s the mind of a true artist! It just never turns off does it 🫣🥰💫
So very true! 🤍✨

It was the one I loved the most-but I really wished you'd embroider the one I voted for:)
So I got both wishes come true:) in a way
Congratulations-looks amazing!
Oh fabulous! Win win all way around 🥰 thank you for adding your voice!
Haha I just commented on the other post to realise I’m too far behind and the decision has already been made 😅
I do love the close up and the explanation makes a lot of sense. So great to be learning alongside and being taken on the journey 🙌
Haha sorry me who writes too much 😅 can’t help myself though lol!
Yay that’s my mission on here to “do as I say” rather than preaching from an unrelated place… (I’m allergic of those unfortunately lol)

I love your fabulous cover Elin! Congratulations on getting it all done! Also love your perfectly imperfect attitude to it! 🎉🥂

Yes it’s an important moment! 🥳 (And you can change it if you want! 🤭)
🙏🏼🥰👏💫
I love the cover of your book! It draws the reader into your world and what you create. Perfect choice and cheers to a successful launch!
