A present for you and me

Hi there,

How are you doing?

Gasping for air or wishing you were busier?

I close my eyes and pray that you’re right where you wish to be and that the new year will bring you closer to where you hope to go.

Today at lunch we spoke about presents and I want to share it with you.

My 4 year old daughter told my French mother in law that ”en present” means a gift in Swedish.

”Un present” can mean a gift in French too, she answered.

”Ah, ça tombe bien” (that’s convenient), my daughter said then, ”because present is present in English too”.

And just like that, it all got clear.

The real present is the present.

This very moment that we’re here together. This very moment that you’re reading these words I feel as though you’re present with me in your mind, which is a gift in itself.

Your presence with yourself, your loved ones, your very existence and presence at this time and place is a gift.

So in times of presents under the tree, I wish for us all to think about the present each present represents, for truly, that’s what the real gift is about ❤️

My gift to you; A poem I wrote yesterday.

The days to ponder
on the daily maze

These are the days
The days to remember
The days in a place
The days to surrender
to the simple ways

These are the days
The days without sleep
The days in a phase
The days you weep
Days to embrace

These are the days
The days of presence
The days you face
are the days of essence
when you set the pace
